Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nokbyte ("Nokbyte", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use nokbyte.com, our QR code and NFC review stands, and related services (the "Service"). It applies to two groups of people:
- Business owners who create a Nokbyte account ("Customers" or "you"); and
- Visitors who scan a Nokbyte QR code or tap an NFC card to rate a business ("End Users").
We process personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Information we collect
From business owners
- Account details: business name, owner email address, phone number and password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Business settings: Google review link, logo, greeting text, praise tags, alert email address and selected plan.
- Payment details: order and payment IDs and amounts. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment processor, Razorpay; we do not see or store them.
From people who scan a QR code
- The star rating they choose.
- Optional feedback text, and any name, phone number or email address they choose to share with the business.
- Technical scan data: browser/device type (user agent), and approximate country and city derived from the network by our hosting provider. We do not collect precise location.
Automatically, from all website visitors
- Usage data collected by Google Analytics through cookies (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser).
- Login cookies and browser storage used to keep business owners signed in.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: show the review page, route happy customers to the business's Google review page, and deliver private feedback to the business.
- To send email alerts about new feedback and weekly summary emails to business owners.
- To show business owners scan counts, feedback and an AI-generated summary of complaint patterns.
- To process payments, prevent fraud and secure accounts.
- To improve the website and understand how it is used.
- To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use End Users' feedback for advertising.
3. Who we share information with
Feedback submitted on a business's review page is shared with that business. We also use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf only to run the Service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, database and file storage |
| Vercel | Routing traffic for nokbyte.com |
| Razorpay | Payment processing |
| Resend | Sending alert and summary emails |
| Google (Gemini API) | AI summaries of feedback for business owners, and content for our blog |
| Google Analytics | Website usage statistics |
Some providers store or process data outside India. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
4. Google reviews
When a customer chooses to post a review on Google, they leave nokbyte.com and use Google directly. Anything they post on Google is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy. Nokbyte never posts reviews on anyone's behalf.
5. Data retention
We keep account and business data while the account is active. Feedback and scan records are kept so business owners can see their history; they are deleted when the business account is deleted. We may keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
6. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect data. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.
7. Your rights and choices
- Business owners can view and update their details in the Setup Studio, and can ask us to delete their account.
- End Users can ask the business they gave feedback to, or us, to access, correct or delete their feedback.
- You can stop weekly summary emails by replying to one of them.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the Service may not work without them.
To make a request or raise a grievance, email support@nokbyte.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
8. Children
The Service is meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be notified to business owners by email.
